Flowers | Day in the life RCD
Hello beautiful people,
Hope 2023 began as it should for you. I'll explain the title in the end. Let's take recap of January 2023. The highs first because why not focus on the highs first.
GOODBEY JANUARY
January began with plan for content and goals for 2023.
Week 1
Goodbye 2022 | Day in the life RCD
I discussed how 2022 was. It took awhile to write this blog because 2023 felt like no structure in my life. I started the year with no goals for that year. Which I never do. I discussed my hits and most important highs. Choosing to evolve and take care of myself more. I also discussed some personal stuff.
Project Cosy Appartments
The year began good with an old client calling for a new project. This felt great and I'm hopeful. The first Friday I had a site visit/consult on my actual vacation still.
My bank VS other banks
After waiting since November 3rd 2022 I needed the bank's approval for business bank accounts. The bank asked me for other documents that I wasn't asked when I delivered the documents in November. They weren't told to me when I repeatedly mailed, Whatsapp and called to asked the state of my affairs. I was so over it. So I was informing myself for other banks. Here is the gif. I needed to ask every document again plus more for other banks. Banks that I'm not use to. So I finished the needed document by the end of that week. And mailed everything for the person who is responsible now.
Full Check Up
Since 2020 I wanted to do a full medical check up. And when the pandemic hit it was easy for me to backtrack and not do it. But I'm so proud of myself I even did a smear test. This sounds weird for most. And a lot asked me why did I check. NO I have no complaints. BUT as a woman over 30 I know that these check up should be done yearly. And knowing my family medical history I know these tests are important.
Week 2
First week Back to Work
I decided to use YouTube to share my online experience content. It was kind of a success. I had a potential clients respond after seeing this. He didn't become my clients. I couldn't take him as a client because I'm not allowed yet to do commercial projects

Week 3
First Online Meeting
Well as expected my online services will not be complete until I finished my office. That means buying my computer. Of course the universe had to give me a test. I needed to have an online meeting with the bank. The computer that I'm using doesn't have a camera so I needed to improvise. I asked my brother for his laptop. And asked an old friend if I could use him by calling to get this prep test done. The sound was good and everything went well during the test run. He helped me download the program I needed. So I was ready the day before. When people says God doesn't have a sense of humor. The day of the online meeting the laptop did an upgrade that took an hour. I was up early so I didn't miss an beat. After the upgrade the laptop mouse pad was locked. So I had to improvise and use my phone. That was an experience. It went well. They asked me:
- my work experience
- what my work entails actually
- if I have clients
It sounded more like I was going to work their. It was really odd experience.
Project Cosy Appartments
Because the first consult I'd noticed some problems and need expertise advice about foundation subsidence. So contacted three different colleagues. First one was my civil engineer. He wanted pictures of the roof and explained that the roof being porous can cause for leakage into the walls which can be a cause. Second person was a potential colleague who want a partnership because his company will give building services. The third was my old freelance employer/teacher. He actually came to do a check up and give his advice about what the possible cause could be.
What was checked?
- The subsidence at beams and date indicated when the subsidence was. This gives the customer better control of the case.
- The drains that were open were examined. He has found that rainwater drains from the office may be clogged.
- The pipes leading to the gutter are too low compared to the gutter itself.
- The septic tank has no problems, because the toilets do not suffer. That means it is not a cause.
- The gutter pipes should be viewed first if it is clogged.
The end of this week I mailed the potential client my advice for what is possible. And gave him choices what I can design.

Follow Up is important
The first google form responder didn't react after the follow up this week. So I had to let this go because these things happen.
Year of the Rabbit| Day in the life RCD
After weeks of RCD article posts I had decided to end January with Day in the life post. I talked about choosing things this month that made me happy. Being consistent with my content. I talked about feeding my faith and how I do this daily plus a weekly basis.
Turbulence | Day in the life RCD
I talked about how I deal with the economic status. And how my faith is important to push through. Most important that some friends don't understand that.
I read a bible verse recently that really says it all.
Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”
— Matthew 8:24-27 (NIV)
HD Apartments
I had a potential client make contact with me and she was very adamant to work with me. I haven't ask yet why. I made sure to check the site with her the next day. It is a renovation project too. She was the second to fill in my consult google form. But this time I changed a little to make it better. I loved the feeling again. A little feeling of relief and excitement. I know it sounds silly.. This did not end with a YES yet. But I'm hoping for it still. We will see what happens.
Week 5
Project Cosy Appartments
He responded the end of this week. Which meant I needed to start sketching. I came up with three different concept designs. Each concept design has two different studio concepts because I wanted to make sure that he found one that spoke to him more.
Lesson learned, sales techniques | RCD Book Review
January began with me reading a thin book about sales techniques. The book discussed 14 sales techniques. Of course not all work well for me but some make perfect sense for me per se.
The sales techniques are:
1. Show customers you're serious
2. Common sense
3. big wins and require high stakes
4. Confidence is the key to growth
5. Never give up
6. Ask your customers for advice
7. The knowledge is with those most involved
8. Generate sales immediately after the company is founded
9. Sell to a company, not an individual
10. Sell products to your sales team
11. Making new customers in services
12. Managing salespeople is not a spectator sport
13. Why You Shouldn't Publicly Rank Sellers
14. Creating a top sales team
