After the site visit or the consultation. Make sure the designer or contractors gives you the cost of his or her services before agreeing to anything.

Tips to be safe from crooks in this COVID pandemic:

• Always know the cost before agreeing to the designer or contractor for his or her services.
  
• Make sure to ask around before choosing an designer
  
• Never pay the entire bill before having an consultation with seeing the drawings before hand
• Always pay in stages
