The Slow Meal | Day in the life RCD

| A slow meal is better than fast food |
Hello RCD readers,
Yes, I’m in the blogging mood. Today I’m not sleepy; instead, I’m ready to share a testimony. This week has been a season of answered prayers for me and my loved ones. I could be specific, but I want to share the Gospel of His faithfulness instead.
Being a Christian and committing your life to God’s timing means surrendering your own expectations. It is a beautiful, albeit challenging, surrender. I am so proud to say that my best friends are flourishing. From achieving a major adult milestone to hearing a long-awaited "yes," I am filled with joy for them. One process took six months, and the other felt like three. Reflecting on their journeys made us pause and talk about how drained we often feel while in the middle of our "waiting rooms."
It made me reminisce on my own past milestones—like my thesis. I was so emotionally, spiritually, and physically exhausted by every hardship along the way that, if I’m being honest, I couldn’t fully enjoy the finish line. I was happy and proud, yes, but mostly, I was relieved it was over. I didn't celebrate as I should have. Even during my graduation ceremony, when I tried to mark the moment, life had other plans that pulled the focus away.
The point is: we often forget to not only be grateful but to truly be joyful with the Lord’s blessings. We get so caught up in the struggle of the climb that we miss the view from the summit.
The second thing I’ve been dwelling on is His perfect timeline. One of my mottos in life is "In God I trust." Simply put: God voorziet, niets ontbreekt (God provides, nothing is lacking). It is the firm belief that the Lord will always provide for His children. His will shall always be done through His goodness, in His time, not ours.
As it is written in Habakkuk 2:3: "For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay."
We were talking about this profusely this week: God’s timing is not our timing. He is often making us wait to perfect our craft, to rest, and to hide us until we are truly ready for what He has prepared.
God will never fail us. He will never let us fall. He has us in His hands. Always remember that, no matter what mountain you are facing today, you are being held by the One who created the mountains themselves.
Trust the process, and remember to celebrate the blessings even while you are still waiting for the next one.
In His grace,
Do you have a testimony of God’s timing in your own life?
