His will not ours

Hello RCD readers,

As I was unwinding today, I came across a Reel about what it means to be a "successful" person. The video talked about building your own clientele, doing your own marketing, and living off your own paycheck—claiming that true success means doing it all completely alone.

​It really made me reflect. First, everyone’s definition of success is different. In the early stages of a venture or a hard season, sometimes success is simply getting through the day and doing what needs to be done.

​Second, the word "alone" didn't sit right with me.

​The truth is, I’m never doing this alone. Everything I build is guided by the Lord. He provides, prepares me for the next opportunity, and stands by me when I’m not quite ready.

​Honestly, I wrestled with that today. I was facing a decision where I wanted to take the easy route, but the Holy Spirit kept nudging me toward what I needed to do—even if it meant extra effort—because the blessings were aligned with that work.

​It was a real wake-up call. I’ve been praying for specific growth and opportunities, but when God opens those doors, you have to step up and do the work. You can't ask for provisions and then shy away when the work arrives.

​As a Type A overthinker, surrendering my own preferences isn't easy. But I’m choosing to quiet the doubt, trust His timing, and know He is taking care of the rest.
