Called to Give, Led to Discern

Hello RCD readers,

Finding balance when life is moving fast is tough, but staying focused on God when things are going smoothly can surprisingly be just as hard.

When life feels hectic, I used to just focus on surviving the storm. Now, I see those high-energy seasons differently. God uses the busy times to balance out the quiet ones—those slow months where work dries up, and you’re left feeling restless or unproductive. The hectic times remind me that I can handle the work, but the quiet times force me to find stillness and peace.

Lately, I’ve been holding onto a deep sense of peace. I still get stressed—my aching neck is proof of that—but I’m learning to embrace God’s constant presence. I don’t need to obsess over the numbers or force every outcome. God provides. My role is simply to do my work justly, steward it well, and leave the results in His hands. I pray for the strength, wisdom, and protection to execute my work right, but also for the grace to admit when I'm wrong.

Because things are going smoothly right now, my main focus is learning how to give back without losing my footing. I’ve never believed that God blesses us just so we can live comfortable, isolated lives. Blessings are meant to be shared.

The challenge is knowing where to direct that energy.

It’s easy to feel like you have to solve every problem that comes your way, but not every burden is yours to carry. Not everything is yours to fix. That’s where discernment comes in. I’m learning to rely heavily on the Holy Spirit to guide my generosity—to show me who to help, how to help, and when to step back.

In this season of smooth sailing, my prayer is simple: to stay sensitive to God's voice, to be a faithful steward of what I’ve been given, and to let His blessings flow through me to the right places.
