Accountability | Day in the life RCD
Hello RCD readers,
In the spirit of Christmas I was reminded to see myself in the wrong. God gave me certain talents in life and not always I use them fully. But this time I did and I listened. I try to listen more to my intuition. I listen to the calmness, the anger, the Holy spirit inside of us that steers us in this world if we quiet enough to hear. This time it was pure anger and frustration. And I heard it. That little voice. This is not normal reaction. This is not from God.
So I prayed. I repented. And told the most important people in my life. And apologized for my actions. Now was I right. Yes ..But should I've handled it that way. No... You can't change people. But you can change your reaction. You can humanize the situation by leading with grace. Or leading with God's love. Their actions is on them. But your reaction is on you. Ofcourse I noticed the one who is the biggest problem look angry. And ofcourse the persons response was explaining I was wrong and that they know it was a joke but it felt like I'm not welcome. My anger wanted to say. "No you take accountability before acting like everything is normal again..". I could go on. Yes this won't be an one action thing. I need more prayer and practice for this season. But the point is.
We need to start with us. Taking accountability or saying sorry is something as an adult became harder for me. You see so much bad behaviour. People manipulating. The hardest thing to do is still lead with kindness and God's grace. Now don't get me wrong. Keeping your boundaries is important. Making sure they understand were you stand is important. But what they do with it is between them and the Lord. You are not judge and jury. So stop acting like that. Focus on your behaviour and actions. That's the most important thing. We always think we have the right to tell what the right way is. Sorry but if they don't ask stop giving your advice. God got you from hard places and He used the people you listen to sometimes to get you out. It's their journey. God will do that for them when they are ready for that. Leave it to God. When your responds, advice or actions are needed in God's plan for them. He will let you know. You are not assigned for everyone. Just like not everyone is assigned to you. That doesn't always mean they are a bad person. Sometimes it just means you are not aligned during this season. And people listen that's okay.
Sorry for the rant. But it was an important lesson. Learning to see yourself in the mirror again and not only that. But act upon what you see and make it right. Ofcourse this doesn't mean that everything will go perfectly but it's a step. And remember God doesn't bless us because our ability to be picture perfect. God blesses us because His grace and love for us. He has anointed us for different purposes. Don't ever think Christians or church goers who are the only one God loves. Check your heart posture always.
Have a blessed weekend and an amazing kid's day
