Hello April | Day in the life RCD
Hello RCD readers,
Last day of the RCD Easter vacation π£. To be honest, the "break" felt non-existent, but the desk is calling and it’s time to get back to the grind. Tomorrow, I'm officially back to work.
My original plan was to post a reel of my Holy Week for social media, but I just didn’t feel inclined to do so. I’ve learned that listening to your gut is more important than keeping up with an algorithm.
As for the holiday itself, I managed to join two out of the five church services: Good Friday and Easter Sunday. I had planned to go with friends, but things didn't quite work out. One friend acted as if we never even had an appointment, even after I moved my schedule π around so she wouldn’t have to go alone. The other didn't want to travel far from home, so we never actually set a time. I’ve decided to just leave it there—you should never have to beg people to be in your life. It's a hard lesson, but a necessary one.
A Blessed Good Friday
Good Friday was such a beautiful day. My mother decided to fast with me so I wouldn’t be alone, making sure I wasn't just sitting there with vegetables while everyone else had meat. Having our breakfast, lunch, and dinner set with that intention was incredibly sweet of her. The service itself felt like a full circle moment; I almost cried in church ⛪️.
Regarding the fasting, I didn’t succeed entirely, but I definitely felt more connected to the Lord. Weirdly, I’ve been feeling very emotional lately. I talked to God more frequently during Holy Week, and my sensitivity is back in full force. I’m not entirely sure why, but it’s a part of me I shut down for years because I felt I had to be "strong" to get things done and handle responsibilities. Now, I don't feel more in control—actually, I feel less—but my faith has increased.
Life isn't linear, and neither is growth. But knowing I have a Savior to turn to when life gets heavy? That’s a blessing and a flex.
The April Game Plan
Looking at April, I have a mountain of tasks ahead. Some are the "unseen" administrative chores that don't immediately bring in income, which can be frustrating, but I’m being honest with you all today. Here is the checklist:
- Tax Season: Filling out income tax for 2025 and 2026 for both personal and RCD Studio. π
- Bookkeeping: Getting QuickBooks updated from 2022 all the way through 2026. ➡️
- Digital Growth: Crushing two important digital goals. ➡️
- Maintenance: Handling two expensive car expenses and one major house expense. ➡️
- Architecture: Finalizing building permits for three different projects. ➡️
- Creative Spark: Choreographing new dances for my ballet classes (even though my inspiration is currently running a bit low!). ➡️
- Financials: Managing essential personal payments for the end of the month. ➡️
- Marketing: Showcasing the RCD portfolio on our socials, including some exciting before-and-after reveals. ➡️
It’s going to be a busy month, and hopefully a productive one behind the scenes. I’m genuinely hyped for what God has in store for me. I survived March—which, with those unexpected expenses, was more of a "hope" than an expectation—and I’m ready for what’s next.
Have a blessed day!
