Listen | Day in the life RCD
Hello RCD readers,
A new week. Another smile on my face. I feel super ready for this week. Because I ended the weekend on a high. A very productive week.
The church service was very inspiring and simply said another answer to a question I've been praying about. We have a new diaken. I think. He was a little bit nervous but did an amazing job. I will always miss diaken Rudy. Having been to all his services. He always made the congregation feel like home. He always made me feel at home. He was always welcoming to others.
The sermon was about praying. How we should pray.. And something stuck out was. That we should not only pray by asking God but also by listening to God. It stuck out because I've had shut up enough to listen. I've thanked. I've repented. I've asked. But listen. That was something I've truly not been still enough to hear.
For those who want to know about praying in the Christian community. Here's a breakdown of its primary purposes:
1. Communication and Relationship with God:
- Talking and Listening: It's the only way to communicate with the Lord
- Fellowship and Intimacy: It's creating a personal relationship with your savior.
- Knowing God's Character: We learn who He is through prayer and to reading our bible.
2. Worship God:
- Praising: It's an act of worship that acknowledges His sovereignty and worthiness.
- Thanksgiving: Expressing gratitude for God's blessings, provision, and salvation is a vital part of prayer. It helps Christians cultivate a thankful heart.
3. Seeking God's Will and Guidance:
- Alignment with God's Purpose: Prayer helps Christians align their lives with God's will.
- Discernment: When I'm lost in what He wants me to do. I believe prayer gives clarity always.
- Wisdom: Christians pray for wisdom and understanding to navigate life's challenges and to live in a way that honors God.
4. Spiritual Growth and Transformation:
- Confession and Forgiveness: Prayer provides an opportunity to confess sins, repent, and receive God's forgiveness, leading to spiritual cleansing and renewal.
- Strength Against Temptation: It strengthening believers against spiritual struggles.
- Character Development: It can change the person praying, even more than the circumstances.
- Peace and Comfort: In times of anxiety, difficulty, or suffering, prayer offers peace that surpasses understanding, comfort, and strength to endure.
5. Intercession and Impact:
- Praying for Others:I tend to pray for other's consistently. Especially when I can't help.
- Accomplishing God's Will on Earth: Our prayers can have a real impact and participate in God's work.
- Spiritual Warfare: Prayer is a "means of 'plugging into' God's power" to defeat spiritual adversaries that believers are powerless to overcome on their own.
I pray for the strengthening of my relationship with the Lord. I pray for his guidance in my life. I pray for my soul to have peace of mind. I pray to give uncertainties to the Lord. I pray for my secrets that I can only rely on Him to give it the right place. I pray for things to get better. I pray for forgiveness to myself and other's. But now follow I will keep listening to what He has to say back to me.
