July Update | Day in the life RCD
Hello RCD readers,
Should I try something new?
Last time I talked about my January project. Today I would love to talk about adding something to my work life. I was asked to do something out of my comfort zone plus in my already busy schedule. I haven't said yes yet. But I'm happy to say this is the perfect fit for me. Something new. Something that I actually have to be creative with. And the extra money would be for savings. Because I never use it. But it does make me think. When I'm done for the day and I leave will this make me look like I'm only here for the money. Or will they respect my choices and not make a stupid comment. And that is where the standing up for yourself sets back in. You don't own anybody an explanation for your life choices. Just like they are smart enough to not care about you when they make decisions. I shouldn't either. Second thing that scares me. Will this be possible in my already busy schedule or not?. I have no idea. But it's worth a try to get my balance back. I have to point out the environment is kind of toxic. And no real support nor real friendship. But I would be doing something I still love. You can't go wrong with that. So a lot to think about. Still asking God for the right decision. Will I be going back if I say yes or will I be moving forward ? A lot to think about.
This time around I'm not asking people for advice to actually take it. But only to hear if I forgot something important to take in consideration.
RC Designs Architectural Studio first building permits
I have three project's in building permit phase. One the client did it himself. I have a feeling this was done outside my integrity rules. Mostly people who want everything done quick. They are the first to pay for speedy deliveries. The second one I will personally bring for the building permit this week. The third I need all the client's documents still.
Yes is not always a definitive yes
I also have potential project's but haven't had any definitive yes. People asking for prices and not contacting anymore. People not wanting to fill out the google form. Makes me think they actually aren't serious about my services. Just want to know the prices. A couple of potential client's even called or send a message with a definitive yes. And I haven't heard from them since. I'm a follow up girl but never get stuck with the possible no. Just keep it moving to the next client.
July project
The project that has my full attention now will take a couple of month's. I'm hoping everything goes smoothly and he will be happy with my services again. 🤞. This week I'm busy with the preliminary 2D Drawings so I can set up a design meeting with him weekend or next week.
Quiet client's
I have two project's where I need feedback. One is in the preliminary phase and the other is definitive phase. Which means the building permit phase has to begin plus the building costs for this project. Now because they don't respond. I have the tendency to just work on what I have control over and that would be other project's.
Clients who don't pay but ask how far the design is
I have one this time. They magicly act like booboo the clown when payment is discussed but they are the first to ask how far the drawings are. I have to be honest I only work on paying project's. Not because I'm greedy and only think about money. But payment is not even a discussing point with them. And I have monthly costs that need to be paid. Which means I have to make sure I get a certain amount monthly to cover my work and personal expenses. If they get it or not.. That is not important.
Follower becomes a client
I have a RCD facebook follower who asked me for my services. I was surprised and nervous. If the person followed my page and was invested. He has a idea how he thinks everything will go. And I don't want to disappoint him. So tomorrow we have the consultation. I hope it goes smoothly. And that he is happy with the end result and the design process itself with me.
RCD Blog will end with a bang.
This year I choose to take more of a step back with RCD Blog. From my blogwebsite and YouTube channel. I made one YouTube clip this year and I have content still to make from project's I had the pleasure of doing this year. My blogpost are less but once in awhile I get the time to write. I have a couple of projects that I would love to showcase. But haven't had the time to do that yet.
Project Updates 2023 and 2024
I'm thinking about doing my best to make content for my finished project's on my YouTube channel. I have a lot content:
👉 December 2023 I have two 3d design project's that were finished in 2024. I would to showcase them
👉 November 2023 I have a project that was cancelled but I still would love to showcase the site visit and the preliminary phase.
👉 January project 2024 this project took almost seven month's with a lot of stagnation
👉 OG client's; I have a couple of clients who needed my services again
👉 first building permit project's for this year.
Etc etc.
Thanks for the read. Comment below if you think I should get out of my comfort zone or not?
And second would you like to see my finished project's or entire design process??
