Project update | August 24th 2020

 Goodmorning RC Design readers,

The project that I will discuss is one of the three ongoing project's. This is a freelance project and I'm just the draftsman. I choose to take a backseat because this isn't my client and I don't have direct contact with them. So let's dive right in.

I got this project July 9th 2020 from Contract company that needed an architectural draftsman. I didn't expect to get the project actually. But I guess my offer was very little for them and a really good deal. The consult was still during COVID and I have to say the COVID rules weren't actually used. Which I expected from the start. Because everyone has a different idea and meaning for this disease.

After the consultation I had a site visit with my partner that weekend and it took me 3 days to finish the preliminary design. The client took more than a week to respond and they were happy I think with the design.

The definitive design drawings took me 12 days to finish this. The contractor was busy for about more than a week with the definitive design to make the budget and after a week  I got some corrections from them.

The building contractor wants less column because of the costs

So last week I asked a couple of construction  contractors for advice and my drawings construction wise good. And yesterday I asked some female colleagues and their advice was it's I had to much columns. And now it's my decision to go in between.

So today I'm finishing the design and hopefully everything will go smooth when it's time for the building permit.
