Project update May 5th 2020

Second work drawings for kitchen design
This week's project update is about one of my ongoing projects close to home. We've discussed the kitchen and definitive design has been given to the government for building permit.

The next step was making the cost. During the cost phase I discovered from kitchen builders that walking space would be too small for walking space plus all kitchen doors open. I personally disagree because I find that small spaces can be interpreted as functional for people if all the functions are fulfilled and usable.

So I'm still proud of my first design over all. But here goes I've redesigned it after consult with the couple.

And that puts emphasis on the design above but it was misunderstood. Which meant the following:

  • back to the drawing board
  • consulting skills need to get better
  • need a better way to get through the intake consult  with a much better understanding of what the client really wants and needs.
  • find better way to explain myself
You see Sunday I was mad and frustrated because I missed the deadline to show this approved design by almost five to six days. And that made me feel so unprofessional but I can whine or fix it. Be professional and try that this never happens.

The new design is still loading with other work tasks for this week.

Stay tuned and check next weeks project update to see how this went.
