Faith, Foundations, and Finding My Rhythm Again
Hello RCD readers,
I’m back. It feels good to say that. I took a necessary step back from blogging to be fully present during Lent, and while I’ve actually written three posts during my time away, I hesitated to share them. I wasn’t sure where they fit anymore—but that’s the beauty of growth. Sometimes you have to pause to see the full picture.
Lessons from Lent: Beyond the Sacrifice
This year’s experience was a real journey. Transitioning away from meat and sweets hit me harder than expected; I felt physically weak and, honestly, quite irritable. I had to pivot, choosing "less" instead of "none" to sustain my health.
It taught me a profound lesson about healing and habits. I realized that some unhealthy patterns I thought were gone were actually just hiding. But as the physical struggle grew, I leaned harder into Scripture. Connecting with the Lord became the "perfect diagnosis" for my soul. When food couldn't fuel me, the Word did.
Project Updates: Building with Integrity
It’s been a busy season at the drafting table!
Here is a look at what’s been happening behind the scenes:
I’m officially tackling the "mountain" of administrative work—starting with QuickBooks for 2022. The first steps into new software are always the steepest, but I’m committed to getting organized!
- Project T: The Definitive Design is officially with the building department! Despite some delays with paperwork and communication, we are finally moving into the construction phase.
- A Commitment to Ethics: I’ve had to stand firm in my business values lately. In an environment where people often try to "speed up" the process through shortcuts, I choose to do things God’s way. I’ve even walked away from projects that compromise these rules. Integrity might take longer, but it’s the only way I’m willing to build.
- Project M & M2: We are navigating the quirks of the building department and paperwork hurdles. It’s a game of patience, but I’m staying on top of every correction to keep things moving.
- Project B & M3: Both are on hold due to financial issues.
- Project M4: A bit of a "funny" one! Dealing with late communication from contractors can be a challenge, but I successfully delivered what was needed, even as the project scope shifted.

I also had a brief encounter with a potential website developer. When the budget and professional communication didn't align, I chose to let it go. It’s important to know when to say "goodbye" to things that don't serve your vision or your peace.
Looking Forward
Today is Holy Thursday. Every year, I find myself deeper in my faith journey, learning what it truly means to live out my values. I’m striving to do my best with what I’ve learned, both in my work and my spirit.
I have plenty of stories saved up to share with you all soon. For now, thank you for being here.
Have a blessed day!
