Christmas in July| Day in the life RCD
Hello RCD readers,
The day is almost here. Balletschool Charlotte Sprangers is having a Christmas show. This concept was talked about with the students how many Christmas dances we made for church and coca cola caravan. I was one of the first to dance with other ballerinas. We danced the temporary church next to cathedral baseliek. It was a dream from our dance teacher to do this. So when she was approached after our Christmas show "Meisje met de sterren". She didn't hesitated to say yes to this opportunity. In 2003. I was only 14years old the youngest in the group of Uni goers.
Kathedral
2010 Jesus Baby
2017 Hallelujah
2018 Maria
2019 Angels we have heard on
Coca Cola Caravan
2017 Rocking around the Christmas tree
I didn't do every year mostly because the dances were made when I wasn't active because school and work later.
Last year I had made two finished dances for my 4 classes. One the teacher started and I had to finish it. Another one she stole my music so I had to think about something else for them. These dances would be for last year Christmas student recital. With the idea to pick OG dances for July dance recital concept " Christmas in July".But after the fire on December 1st 2024. Everything was on hold. The teacher started talking about still doing it after the dance benifit. The other dance teachers inspired her to still give a show within 4 month's and no costumes. So that was the crazy plan. I had in my mind just teaching because I'm not actively going to class. So I would stick out as a sour thump. I kept repeating it but everyone was always so "supportive" for me to relearn a dance or dances. And magically follow class on a day I told I couldn't come to practice. But weirdest thing before I even got a chance to say yes or no my body said no. Which I found the funniest. But that's life for you.
So now are heavily busy practicing. I choose to do two dance. The first and the last as solidarity. I finally finished my two dances that I made. So this month is all about correcting and practicing. We have a lot of free days. So I have no clue what will happen. But I do know God will be there every step of the way.
