Project Update| Tuesday July 20th 2021
Hello RC Designs readers and watchers,
Today I will discuss how last week went and how this week began. Last week I had a hectic scare but everything is fine now. And during that time I had to deal with the fact that I had to work on something which I didn't get a cent yet. Plus I had a call for a project about some comments( for the building permit).
Building permit:
- I have a couple of projects which I need to get approval for building.
- One is an apartment complex for three studios. I'm very anxious to see what the head of the department will give as comment because I've been waiting for weeks.
- Second is a house for a young couple starting their family. This one had no comments so I was shocked when the end was almost near and the head of the department had two comments. I corrected them during the weekend. I delivered them yesterday. So the wait continues.
- Third is from my cousin. She is designing a house for her family. This project is in de construction department now. So I have to wait for their call.
Bar/restaurant
Last week I was not motivated because the employer isn't communicating regularly and I wasn't paid my deposit. So I wasn't sure if their client agreed to the amount that I asked. I finally got an approval after I think two weeks waiting again. So weekend I finished the layout concept and mailed some questions. And hopefully the respond.
Now the waiting
I've learned the waiting is really for the patient people. I'm learning every day the moment I'm going to give on a project and decline I hear a response. hahahah
Which is totally annoying but the question of the day is it worth it?
I would have to say yes and no
I've noticed that sometimes you'll receive the unnecessary waiting game. Clients not responding after first consultation but expecting that you have worked the time that they haven't communicated. Or employers making promises of fast work without discussing it with me and forget I don't work full time for them. Or anyone else not responding after they contacted.
How to deal with it?
I'm learning to let go but I'm also knowing when to suck it up and keep grinding. I make my decisions with my gut and talking to my partner plus sometimes my mother. Because sometimes a fresh outside look helps you navigate the situation. And most important I stand by my choices if the backfire or succeed..
So let me know how do you deal with the waiting game? Or let's say people wasting your time. Comment below.
